The Florida Department of Health, Palm Beach County Health Department, is seeking an Environmental Specialist II to conduct regulatory environmental health and safety inspections. You will ensure compliance with state and local laws across a range of facilities.

The role requires independent judgment, data analysis, field sampling, and coordination with federal, state, and local agencies to investigate foodborne illnesses, licensing reviews, and enforcement actions.

Formación

• Knowledge of physical or natural sciences principles and analytical techniques.
• Ability to collect, evaluate, analyze and interpret scientific or technical data.
• Ability to conduct regulatory inspections and investigations independently.
• Skill in reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, maps and technical documents.
• Experience with data entry, database management, and field documentation.

Responsabilidades

• Conduct regulatory environmental health inspections to ensure compliance with state and local laws.
• Perform food service inspections and investigate foodborne illnesses.
• Handle sanitary nuisance complaints and licensing reviews.
• Coordinate enforcement actions across schools, assisted living facilities, migrant housing, and mobile home parks.
• Require independent judgment, data analysis, field sampling, and coordination with federal, state, and local agencies.
