Job description

SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Vice President of Operations, the Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Manager is responsible for ensuring the health and safety of Globe's employees, visitors, and contractors. The role involves promoting good work practices to comply with environmental regulations at our California and Massachusetts manufacturing facilities. The EHS Manager provides leadership in environmental, health, safety, and security across all Globe sites.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Implement policies to ensure a safe and healthy work environment, including:
    • Ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
    • Leading efforts to promote injury reduction and environmental protection in facilities, equipment, processes, and employee behaviors.
    • Managing programs to comply with government regulations and industry standards related to EHS.
    • Developing and delivering EHS training and maintaining training records.
  2. Inspect facilities to identify and mitigate safety, health, and environmental risks.
  3. Develop and implement inspection policies, procedures, and schedules.
  4. Create health and safety procedures for all areas of the company.
  5. Schedule and conduct training and safety committee meetings on emergency procedures and workplace safety.
  6. Monitor safety compliance through metrics analysis.
  7. Maintain accessible material safety data sheets and records of employee exposure to hazardous substances.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Excellent organizational, attention to detail, and time management skills.
  • Strong observation, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Willingness to travel regularly to the Modesto, California manufacturing plant.
  • Proficiency in environmental inspection technology and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science, public health, occupational safety, or a related field.
  • At least four years of related experience.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Ability to conduct inspections and carry inspection equipment.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Capability to walk through large manufacturing environments.
  • Prolonged sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Visual acuity including close, distance, peripheral vision, and focus adjustment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Primarily in a manufacturing setting with noise levels and conditions within safety limits.

TRAVEL:

  • Up to 30% travel required.

WORK AUTHORIZATION/SECURITY CLEARANCE:

Must comply with U.S. export control regulations and be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, protected individual, or eligible for required authorizations.
