Responsibilities

• Partner closely with production, sanitation, maintenance, QA, HR and site leadership to promote a strong safety culture.
• Provide strategic direction on planning, development, administration and management of safety policies, programs, systems and training.
• Assess, evaluate, quantify and prioritize safety risks and develop action plans to control significant risks.
• Analyze and recommend corrective action for safety incidents.
• Evaluate equipment, processes, sanitation chemicals, thermal processing areas and material handling for safety controls.
• Maintain records related to inspections, training, incidents, environmental reports, permits, inventories and regulatory documentation.
• Oversee safety training for employees, supervisors and contractors, including PPE, lockout/tagout, machine guarding, forklift safety, confined space awareness, emergency response, chemical handling, ergonomics and slip/trip/fall prevention.

to join the San Antonio, TX facility of a premium food production facility. The EHS Manager provides strategic leadership in areas of injury prevention, task assessment, communications and regulatory compliance. Environmental, Health & Safety Manager Position Summary:

• - Partner closely with production, sanitation, maintenance, quality assurance, human resources and site leadership to promote a strong safety culture, reduce workplace risk and maintain continuous improvement across the facility.
• - Provide strategic direction on planning, development, administration and management of organizational safety policies, programs, systems and training.
• - Assess, evaluate, quantify and prioritize safety risks for the company and develop action plans for ensuring all significant risks are controlled and managed.
• - Analyze and recommend corrective action for all safety related incidents.
• - Evaluate equipment, production processes, sanitation chemicals, thermal processing areas, refrigerated environments and material handling practices to confirm appropriate safety controls are in place.
• - Maintain accurate records related to safety inspections, training, incidents, environmental reports, permits, chemical inventories, and regulatory documentation in audit-ready condition.
• - Oversee safety training for employees, supervisors, and contractors, including: PPE, hazard communication, lockout/tagout, machine guarding, forklift and pedestrian safety, confined space awareness, emergency response, chemical handling, ergonomics and slip/trip/fall prevention.

Qualifications Summary:

• - Bachelor's Degree in Safety Management, Safety Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Sciences, Engineering or related field.
• - Minimum 5 years of related safety experience preferably in food manufacturing, food processing, cold storage, warehouse or in an industrial production environment.
• - Knowledge of federal, state and local safety laws including OSHA and EPA regulations.
• - Demonstrable experience with developing, updating and managing workplace safety programs, procedures and policies.
• - Strong leadership skills and the ability to influence.
