Group Summary:

The Magna Exteriors portfolio of products includes access systems such as liftgates, exterior trim, modular systems, front-end modules including fascia, active aerodynamic systems and other lightweight structural components for automotive, commercial truck and other industrial markets. Job Responsibilities:
  1. Manage environmental, health, safety and ergonomic activities through strong leadership, communication, motivation and direction of safety and environmental staff.
  2. Ensure that every Norplas Team Member has a safe work environment, free from recognized hazards. Promote and encourage safe work habits and the immediate communication of unsafe conditions.
  3. Understand, support, implement, and enforce compliance to all company and governmental agencies safety policies, procedures, and regulations. Interpret company policies to workers and enforce safety regulations.
  4. Actively prevent pollution/reduce waste to support the attainment of established goals. Maintain an understanding and instruct employees on how their specific job can affect the environment or the health and safety of themselves or others.
  5. Coordinate safety training for all Norplas employees in the areas of Safety and Environmental.
  6. Investigate and maintain records for all work-related injuries and/or illnesses, provide statistical analysis, and assist department management in the development of effective health and safety countermeasures to continuously improve safety objectives.
  7. Oversee the Worker’s Compensation Program and implement an effective plan for minimizing and reducing worker injuries and associated costs in relationship to measurable data from the State of Ohio BWC.
  8. Ensure legislative compliance with OSHA, EPA, Fire Codes, and serve as a liaison with local agency representatives.
  9. Conduct routine workplace safety inspections and establish measurable standards from which further recommendations (continuous improvement) can be made, with effective follow-up.
  10. Guide the development and implementation of Norplas Health and Safety policies and programs.
  11. Participate in Accident Investigations as required and correct unsafe conditions in a prudent and timely manner.
  12. Coordinate emergency evacuation procedures, training, and practice drills.
  13. Coordinate isocyanate awareness training program and monitor on a continuous basis.
  14. Environmental Responsibilities- ensure all environmental reports are submitted accurately and on time pertaining to areas such as:
    1. Air: Oversee and ensure compliance to the facilities Title V permit. Ensure all permit and regulatory required reporting is compiled and submitted accordingly. Ensure that the Title V permit is maintained and that all permit applications/modifications are submitted for process changes. Maintain up to date records for the facility’s Regenerative Thermal Oxidizer and other associated emission sources.
    2. Water: Ensure all process water discharges and stormwater discharges are compliant with the facility’s NPDES permit and discharge orders. Ensure that all permits are maintained and that all permit applications and modifications are submitted for process changes.
    3. Hazardous Waste: Coordinate and manage the facility’s hazardous waste program.
    4. Land: Oversee facilities SPCC plan and SWPPP, outside storage of materials, and landfill disposal management. Coordinate recycling efforts of all recyclable scrap at Norplas.
    5. ISO14001: Ensure maintenance of facilities ISO 14001 certification.
  15. Assist in directing the services of contracted Security Management personnel.
  16. Management of safety and environmental support staff.
