Checon, LLC, a division of Alloy Holdings, LLC is currently recruiting for an EH&S Manager at our North Attleboro, MA or Glens Falls, NY location. This position will be responsible for safety across all our facilities and supervise an EH&S Coordinator.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced EH&S professional to join our team. The ideal candidate will be multi-dimensional and have experience in both Environmental and Safety disciplines. On the environmental side you will have a strong understanding of Federal EPA RCRA regulations and the Environmental Protection Agency regulations for MA, RI, NY and PA, experience with toxics use reduction planning, air emission inventory, and other related environmental safety practices. On the Safety side you will have a strong knowledge of developing and ensuring compliance with safety policies and programs, as well as maintaining a strong knowledge of OSHA regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with safety policies and programs by maintaining a strong knowledge of all OSHA regulations and all relevant environmental regulations and guidelines.
  • Develop and implement safety policies and procedures. Provide employee training for new and existing employees on policies, regulations, and procedures across all sites. Champion employee involvement and plant/site safety committees to identify and address safety concerns.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and areas for improvement. Assist with all outside audits and drive corrective actions for non-compliance.
  • Manage and maintain all necessary permits and documentation.
  • Investigate all injuries to determine root cause and appropriate corrective actions. Report injury claims and manage the workers compensation process to include employee medical treatments until the claim is closed.
  • Manage cadmium uniform/towel service as part of the cadmium safety program.
  • Sample wastewater regularly and submit samples to an environmental testing laboratory.
  • Develop processes to ensure compliance with all applicable laws, external / internal regulations and standards including ISO management systems on environment and safety.
  • Submit all annual filing reports to appropriate government agencies.
  • Oversee the disposal of hazardous waste, chemical purchases and deliveries as well as trash, recycling and wood waste.
  • Management and renews all permits including but not limited to: MADEP – Precious Metal Recycling, EPA Stormwater Pollution Protection, City and/or State Public Works
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure safety is integrated into all aspects of the business
Requirements:
  • Strong understanding of OSHA, Federal EPA RCRA regulations, MA, RI, NY and PA environmental protection regulations and guidelines.
  • Experience with ISO Management Systems, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 preferred.
  • Experience with toxics use reduction planning, air emission inventory, and other related environmental safety practices
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Engineering, or related field or 5 years’ experience in environmental safety.
  • Certifications in occupational safety (CSP), hazardous materials, hazardous waste, industrial hygiene, and TURP preferred.
