Job summary

Jobot is expanding its EHS leadership team in Southern California. The ideal candidate will lead the EHS Management System aligned with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001, drive safety audits, and design training on handling hazardous substances within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

A strong focus on waste management, SPCC, and wastewater compliance is essential. The role requires 5+ years in EHS, a related bachelor's degree, and certifications in industrial hygiene or similar.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health, Safety Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years in an EHS role in engineering with focus on safety, SPCC, wastewater, hazardous waste, hazardous substances.
• In-depth knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
• Certified in industrial hygiene monitoring or related certification.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and improvement of the EHS Management System per ISO 14001/45001.
• Conduct regular safety audits and inspections for compliance.
• Develop and deliver safety training on hazardous substances.
• Oversee hazardous waste management incl. waste minimization, recycling, disposal.
• Implement and maintain SPCC plan.
• Manage wastewater treatment program for regulatory compliance.
• Conduct industrial hygiene monitoring and control measures.
• Oversee document control for all EHS records.
• Collaborate with departments to promote safety and sustainability.
• Stay updated on EHS regulations and best practices.

Responsibilities

1. 1. Lead the development, implementation, and continual improvement of the EHS Management System in line with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards.
2. 2. Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
3. 3. Develop and implement safety training programs for all employees, including training on handling hazardous substances such as chromium, cyanide, and acid.
4. 4. Oversee all aspects of hazardous waste management, including waste minimization, recycling, and disposal.
5. 5. Implement and maintain the Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure (SPCC) plan.
6. 6. Manage the company's wastewater treatment program, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations.
7. 7. Conduct industrial hygiene monitoring to assess employee exposure to potential health hazards and implement appropriate control measures.
8. 8. Manage the document control process for all EHS-related documents, ensuring that all records are accurately maintained and readily accessible.
9. 9. Collaborate with various departments to promote a culture of safety and sustainability throughout the organization.
10. 10. Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in environmental health and safety regulations and best practices, and ensure that the company's EHS program is aligned with these.

Qualifications

1. 1. A bachelor's degree in Environmental Health, Safety Engineering, or a related field.
2. 2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in an EHS role in the engineering industry, with a strong focus on safety, SPCC, wastewater treatment, hazardous waste management, and handling of hazardous substances.
3. 3. In-depth knowledge of EHS regulations and standards, including ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
4. 4. Certified in industrial hygiene monitoring or a related certification.
5. 5. Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire others to prioritize safety.
6. 6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex EHS concepts to a diverse audience.
7. 7. Proficient in document control and record management.
8. 8. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to identify potential safety risks and develop effective solutions.
9. 9. Proficient in using EHS management software and other relevant computer applications.
10. 10. A strong commitment to promoting a culture of safety and sustainability within the organization.
