Job summary

Schneider Electric is seeking an Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Intern for Spring 2027 at our Columbia, Missouri site. This on-site, part-time role is ideal for students pursuing science, engineering, or safety & environmental degrees and located in the area.

The internship offers hands-on experience, mentorship, and exposure to real-world EHS processes. Responsibilities include risk assessments, site safety trainings, document digitization, and projects focused on top hazards.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Science, Engineering or Safety & Environmental degree.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential.
• Interest in EHS and safety processes within industrial settings.
• Proficiency with MS Office tools is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with risk assessment and Job Hazard Analysis.
• Develop site-specific safety trainings.
• Digitize EHS documents and records.
• Contribute to projects addressing top hazards.
• Lead 5s safety initiatives and ergonomics assessments.
• Support environmental sustainability and Green Team efforts.

Schneider Electric has an exciting opportunity for an Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Intern at our Columbia, Missouri location for the Spring 2027 semester. This is a part-time, onsite position requires the ideal candidate to be located in the general area.No visa sponsorship or relocation will be provided for this role.

As an Environmental, Health & Safety Engineer Intern, you will have the following responsibilities:

• Risk assessment and Job Hazard Analysis
• Development of site‑specific safety trainings
• Digitization of EHS documents
• Projects around top 5 hazards
• Lead 5s safety initiatives
• Ergonomic assessments
• Behavior‑Based safety
• Environmental sustainability champion
• Site Green team champion
• Other projects as needed / working alongside seasoned professionals

For this U.S. based position, the expected pay range is USD $23 - $25 per hour. Our pay ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level. Within the pay range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
