Summary
The Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Coordinator develops, implements, and manages occupational safety programs, ISO management systems, and coordinates safety activities across divisions and departments. Responsibilities include designing safety protocols, conducting training, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

Job Duties
- Conduct safety orientations, training sessions, site inspections, and reporting.
- Monitor amendments to Occupational Health & Safety Act (OHSA) and recommend implementations.
- Perform safety compliance inspections, hazard analyses, and prepare reports.
- Ensure adherence to safety programs by employees and subcontractors.
- Develop and deliver safety training on topics such as WHMIS, Fall Protection, PPE, CPR/First Aid, etc.
- Report accidents and injuries promptly to the corporate office.
- Coordinate safety activities across divisions and departments.
- Advise management on safety issues and develop safety standards in compliance with regulations.
- Lead safety investigations and analyze incident data to improve safety programs.
- Research safety methods and recommend best practices.
- Provide safety briefings and training to field personnel and management.
- Manage environmental and quality management systems as per company policies.
Minimum Requirements
- University degree or community college diploma in a related field, or 10 years safety experience in manufacturing.
- Safety certifications (e.g., CRSP, WHMIS) are a strong asset.
- In-depth knowledge of OHSA, workers’ compensation laws.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database systems.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize, and handle multiple projects.
- Knowledge of civil work, demolition, or heavy civil work is a plus.
- Certification under OHSA or working towards it is advantageous.
- Leadership, troubleshooting, decision-making, and presentation skills.
Working Conditions
- Physical ability to lift 25 lbs.
- Travel as needed.
- Use of desktop computer and peripherals.
- Overtime may be required.
