Job summary

The Florida Department of Environmental Protection, Division of State Lands, seeks an Environmental Specialist III in Tallahassee to provide consultative services and technical assistance for grant-in-aid programs, supporting statewide land and recreation initiatives.

You will coordinate with federal and state agencies, manage grant procedures, conduct fact-finding research, prepare reports, and help public outreach.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of community planning/development programs and evaluation techniques.
• Ability to collect, evaluate, and analyze data to support recommendations and improvements.
• Experience coordinating with agencies and managing grant procedures.
• Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments; communicate effectively in writing and speech.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates with federal and state agencies to ensure compliance with laws, rules, and procedures; manages grant procedures and post-award administration.
• Serves as section lead for fact-finding research and public participation; coordinates outreach and education activities.
• Develops and distributes reports, bulletins, maps, brochures, and other information to assist program administration; assists with press releases.
• Performs related work as assigned.
