Job summary

APTIM is seeking an Environmental Technician to support environmental compliance projects for U.S. Navy and Marine Corps facilities in San Diego County.

The role involves outdoor fieldwork, sampling at drinking water, wastewater, and hazardous waste facilities, and communicating findings to supervisors and customers. You will drive a company vehicle, maintain sampling equipment, and follow sampling procedures and safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Strong organizational, time-management, and prioritization skills.
• Ability to work independently and outdoors under varying weather and site conditions.

Responsibilities

• Drive a company vehicle to assigned project sites.
• Collect and document environmental compliance samples at drinking water, wastewater treatment, and hazardous waste facilities.
• Enter sampling information and related documentation into the sample-tracking database accurately and promptly.
• Follow established sampling procedures, quality-control requirements, and chain-of-custody protocols.
• Provide regular work-status updates and communicate safety concerns or other issues to the supervisor.
