Job summary

Clean Harbors in Poca, WV is seeking an Environmental Field Laborer to join our safety-conscious team. This role will be active in the field responsible for the performance of tasks associated with hazardous waste clean-up, site-remediation, equipment decontamination and handling of hazardous materials.

You will work outdoors in varying weather, operate equipment, wear PPE, and participate in on-call emergency response on a rotating basis.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform strenuous physical labor and operate in various weather conditions.
• On-call rotation for emergency response, including weekends/holidays.
• Pass background check, drug test, and medical exam as required.
• Compliance with OSHA respiratory protection standards.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety policies to ensure Health and Safety is the top priority.
• Perform physical tasks including lifting and moving heavy objects.
• Operate light and heavy equipment and use hand tools.
• Use PPE properly, including respirators and protective gear.
• Work in varied environments and temperatures.
• Support field sampling and calibrate meters.
• Climb ladders and scaffolding, enter trucks and tanks.
• Attend compliance and safety meetings.
• Respond to emergency calls on a rotating basis.
• Safe loading/unloading of hazardous and non-hazardous waste.
