Job summary

Oklahoma Environmental Services is seeking an Environmental Field Technician to conduct field operations, collect soil and groundwater data, and support project managers in the field. The role requires safety diligence and teamwork across sites located in Oklahoma.

Ideal candidates will have HS or GED, HAZWOPER certification, and experience outdoors operating drill rigs or excavators. Occasional site travel may be required to support multiple field locations.

Qualifications

  • HS or GED with basic field experience.
  • HAZWOPER certification is preferred for field work.
  • Experience in outdoor field environments and operating equipment.
  • CDL A is a plus for travel to sites.

Responsibilities

  • Work as part of a team to conduct environmental services.
  • Communicate with project managers and other team members.
  • Perform field tasks in a safe and compliant manner.
  • Support disposal activities as required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Most tasks and assignments are delivered in the form of “Field Work Orders”.

Position Summary

Field Operations entails executing those tasks and assignments associated with collecting data away from the office environment, overseeing the work of colleagues or contractors away from the office environment, and the performance of specific environmental duties with the express purpose of meeting the requirements of staff project managers. Most tasks and assignments are delivered in the form of “Field Work Orders”.

Education And Experience
  • HS or GED
  • HAZWOPER
  • Field/outdoors
  • Operating equipment - drill rigs, skid steers, excavators
  • Installing monitoring wells
  • Soil and groundwater remediation
  • Collecting scientific data - soil, groundwater, building materials
  • Mechanically inclined
  • CDL a plus
Field Services
  • Work as part of a team conducting environmental services
  • Communicate with project managers and others
  • Conduct work in a safe manner
Additional Responsibilities
  • Support disposal activities
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Competencies

  • Execute field work orders
  • Calibrate/operate field instruments
  • Maintain vehicle fleet
  • Complete and support tasks under supervision of experienced field technician
  • Read and understand Field Work Orders
  • Communicate with project managers
  • Collect information and data in a prescribed fashion and consistent with OES’ protocols and procedures
  • Report “unusual” or “inconsistent” observations to project managers directly
  • “Ask questions” if unsure
  • All other duties as assigned
Teamwork:

Participate in team planning, status, and other meetings

Participate in team functions as applicable

Participate in Safety Training programs

Other Requirements
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining strict confidentiality.
  • Occasional travel between company locations.
  • Ability to use standard office equipment and computers for extended periods.
