Job summary

Oklahoma Environmental Services (OES) is seeking an Environmental Field Technician in Oklahoma City to support field operations and data collection.

You will work with project managers, operate field equipment, install monitoring wells, and assist with soil and groundwater remediation, always prioritizing safety and accurate documentation.

The role requires HS or GED, HAZWOPER, and the ability to travel between company locations as needed, with teamwork and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

  • HS or GED required.
  • HAZWOPER certification required.
  • Experience operating field equipment such as drill rigs, skid steers, and excavators.
  • Experience installing monitoring wells, soil and groundwater remediation.
  • Experience collecting scientific data (soil, groundwater, building materials).
  • Mechanically inclined.

Responsibilities

  • Work as part of a team conducting environmental services.
  • Communicate with project managers and others.
  • Conduct field work safely and per protocols.
  • Calibrate and operate field instruments.
  • Maintain vehicle fleet and read Field Work Orders.
  • Take quality notes in the field and report observations.

Supervisory Duties: None

Position Summary

Field Operations entails executing those tasks and assignments associated with collecting data away from the office environment, overseeing the work of colleagues or contractors away from the office environment, and the performance of specific environmental duties with the express purpose of meeting the requirements of staff project managers. Most tasks and assignments are delivered in the form of “Field Work Orders”.

Education and Experience

  • HS or GED
  • HAZWOPER
  • Operating equipment - drill rigs, skid steers, excavators
  • Installing monitoring wells
  • Soil and groundwater remediation
  • Collecting scientific data - soil, groundwater, building materials
  • Mechanically inclined
Accountabilities

Field Services

  • Work as part of a team conducting environmental services
  • Communicate with project managers and others
  • Conduct work in a safe manner
Additional Responsibilities
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Take quality notes in the field
  • Execute field work orders
  • Calibrate/operate field instruments
  • Maintain vehicle fleet
  • Complete and support tasks under supervision of experienced field technician
  • Read and understand Field Work Orders
  • Communicate with project managers
  • Collect information and data in a prescribed fashion and consistent with OES’ protocols and procedures
  • Report “unusual” or “inconsistent” observations to project managers directly
  • “Ask questions” if unsure
  • All other duties as assigned
Teamwork
  • Participate in team planning, status, and other meetings
  • Participate in team functions as applicable
  • Participate in Safety Training programs

Other Requirements

  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining strict confidentiality.
  • Occasional travel between company locations.
  • Ability to use standard office equipment and computers for extended periods.
