Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Collect environmental samples including soil, groundwater, surface water, air, and waste.
  • Perform field monitoring and inspections.
  • Maintain and calibrate field sampling and monitoring equipment.
  • Record and interpret environmental data.
  • Assist with environmental compliance activities.
  • Support remediation, waste management, and pollution prevention projects.
  • Conduct routine facility inspections and recommend corrective actions.
  • Assist with spill response and incident investigations.
  • Ensure proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials.
  • Follow health, safety, and environmental procedures.
  • Collaborate with engineers, scientists, and regulators.

Position Summary:

A motivated and dependable Environmental Technician committed to supporting environmental compliance and stewardship. The ideal candidate demonstrates a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and professionalism while consistently following established environmental procedures and regulations. This role is well suited for someone who communicates effectively, works collaboratively in both field and office settings, and is dedicated to promoting environmental responsibility and regulatory compliance. Serves as a front-line environmental resource for field operations by supporting monitoring, inspections, data collection, and environmental protection initiatives.

Responsibilities include supporting field safety activities, maintaining gas detection equipment, conducting inspections, managing safety documentation, assisting with regulatory compliance, and contributing to the continuous improvement of the company's health and safety programs. Success in this role requires reliability, sound judgment, and a commitment to maintaining safe and compliant work environments.

  • Collect environmental samples, including soil, groundwater, surface water, air, and waste materials.
  • Perform field monitoring, inspections, and environmental assessments.
  • Maintain and calibrate field sampling and monitoring equipment.
  • Record, organize, and interpret environmental data while ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Assist with environmental compliance activities in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Prepare field reports, inspection reports, and technical documentation.
  • Support environmental remediation, waste management, and pollution prevention projects.
  • Conduct routine facility inspections to identify environmental concerns and recommend corrective actions.
  • Assist with spill response, incident investigations, and corrective action documentation when necessary.
  • Ensure proper handling, labeling, storage, and disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous materials.
  • Follow established health, safety, and environmental procedures during all field and laboratory activities.
  • Work collaboratively with engineers, scientists, project managers, and regulatory agencies as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
Required Qualifications:
  • Associate degree or bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Technology, Biology, Chemistry, Natural Resources, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience in relevant environmental role in chemical manufacturing.
  • Basic knowledge of environmental regulations and compliance practices.
  • Experience with environmental sampling techniques and data collection is preferred.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and over uneven terrain.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with hazardous waste management or remediation projects.
  • OSHA HAZWOPER certification (40-hour) or willingness to obtain.
  • Knowledge of EPA, OSHA, and applicable state environmental regulations.
  • Experience using GPS equipment, GIS software, or environmental data management systems.

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

  • Capable of wearing full PPE for the duration of field assignments.
  • Must meet respirator medical clearance, PFT, and fit-test requirements where respirator use is required.
