Emergency Response Equipment Operator

The position is based in Oklahoma City, OK and involves assisting with hazardous waste clean-up, site remediation, equipment decontamination, and handling hazardous materials.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure health and safety is the top priority by following PROS - Pause, Review, Observe, Start
• Perform non-emergency and emergency response activities involving biological and chemical materials
• Engage in labor intensive activities in all weather conditions throughout the shift
• Work in atmospheres with low clearances, confined spaces, and at heights
• Operate light and heavy equipment including skid steers, forklifts, dozers, excavators, and backhoes
• Perform routine inspection and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment
• Load and unload equipment from vehicles and trailers
• Maintain an excellent driving history

Qualifications

• 2 years of environmental project experience
• Pass a pre-employment drug screening, criminal background check, and physical exam
• Legally eligible to work in the United States (verified through E-Verify)
• Willingness to obtain OSHA 40 hour certification
• Ability to work on an on-call basis as business needs require
• Ability and willingness to work in a physically intensive role
• Ability to work in confined spaces
• Ability to wear a respirator
• Regularly lift and carry 50 pounds
• Must be able to interpret and follow written and oral instructions and assignments
• Environmental, hazardous waste, and OSHA 40 hr HAZWOPER experience and heavy equipment operation and maintenance experience is a plus
