Job summary

SCS Engineers is seeking a hands-on Technician to support scientists, engineers and field teams at our Long Beach headquarters. You will handle fleet administration, equipment maintenance, and office tasks, while also assisting with environmental field activities as needed.

You’ll report to Administrative Coordinators/Facilities Managers and work with multiple project managers across the company. This role emphasizes adapting to field demands, following SOPs, and applying independent judgement

Qualifications

• Experience with vehicle maintenance required.
• Experience with field equipment maintenance required.
• Health and Safety experience preferred.
• Experience with environmental fieldwork preferred (HAZWOPER training provided).
• Experience with mechanical systems or construction preferred.
• Completion of (or willingness to complete) a 40-hour Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) training required.
• Valid driver’s license with a driving record in good standing required.

Responsibilities

• Manage fleet vehicles and coordinate maintenance.
• Manage health and safety supplies and PPE distribution.
• Perform fire extinguisher maintenance and office duties.
• Support field equipment management, calibration, repairs, and storage.
• Assist with environmental field activities including sampling and field logs.
• Travel locally or overnight as needed.
