Job summary

Clean Harbors in Wichita, KS is seeking an Environmental Field Chemist to handle, segregate, pack, and inspect chemical waste in accordance with Federal/State/Local regulations. This role will work indoors and outdoors at plants, labs, customer sites and assist with lab packs, HHW collections and lab moves at customer facilities.

This entry‑level position offers training, opportunities for growth, and the possibility of advancing into salary management roles within Clean Harbors.

Qualifications

• Must have valid driver’s license.
• CDL Class B with hazmat and tanker endorsement required within 6 months of employment.
• OSHA/EPA/DOT compliance knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Handle, segregate, pack, and inspect chemical waste per regulations.
• Prepare packing lists, labels, and manifests.
• Inspect storage areas and drums for leaks, labeling, and compliance.
• Safely operate vehicles per DOT/state/federal requirements.
• Assist with HHW collections and lab moves at customer sites.
