Job summary

Clean Harbors in Baltimore, MD is seeking an Environmental Field Chemist CDL (CleanPack Chemist) to handle, segregate, pack and inspect chemical waste at customer sites, indoors and outdoors. This is a customer-facing role with on-site duties and potential training progression within Clean Harbors’ Technical Services network.

The position offers an hourly pay range of $26.00–$28.00, benefits after 30 days, and growth opportunities across 200+ branch locations as you advance within the company.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver's license required.
• Strong customer service skills.
• By position, obtain a CDL Class B with hazmat and tanker endorsement within 6 months of employment.
• Perform physical functions per job requirements.
• Successfully complete a background check, drug test, and physical, by position.
• Follow OSHA respiratory protection standards where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Prepare packing lists, labels, manifests and disposal notifications.
• Inspect storage areas, drums and labeling for compliance.
• Package waste chemicals for disposal to maximize efficiency and compliance.
• Execute jobs at customer sites, including Fortune 500 companies.
• Ensure projects meet OSHA, EPA, DOT and company policies.
• Operate vehicles safely according to DOT and local regulations.
