Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an Environmental, Water Resources, or Civil Engineering Intern to work on real‑world water and infrastructure projects. You will collaborate with senior engineers and multidisciplinary teams across municipal, federal, and industrial sectors.

You will gain hands-on experience with ArcGIS, Fathom, SWMM, CADD, Excel, and other engineering software while developing technical and professional skills for a future engineering career.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled toward a Bachelors in Environmental, Civil, Chemical Engineering or a related engineering field.

Responsibilities

• Research and evaluate engineering solutions to support project analyses, reporting, and design.
• Assist with the development of engineering calculations, technical reports, project documentation, and presentations.
• Gain hands‑on experience using tools such as ArcGIS, Fathom, SWMM, CADD, Excel, and other engineering software.
• Work alongside senior engineers and multidisciplinary teams to support project deliverables and solve engineering challenges.
• Participate in team meetings and gain exposure to client and project interactions.
• Assist with fieldwork and construction management activities, providing a firsthand look at projects throughout the full project lifecycle.
• Build your professional network while developing technical skills that complement your academic experience.
