Job summary

CDM Smith in Boston seeks an Environmental, Water Resources, or Civil Engineering Intern to gain hands-on experience on real-world water and infrastructure projects.

You will work with experienced engineers on diverse municipal, federal, and industrial projects, collaborating with interns and multi-disciplinary teams while gaining exposure to different areas of engineering and project delivery.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s program in Environmental, Civil, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
• 10% travel or less.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Research and evaluate engineering solutions to support analyses, reporting, and design.
• Develop engineering calculations, technical reports, project documentation, and presentations.
• Gain hands-on experience using tools such as ArcGIS, HEC-RAS, SWMM, CADD, Excel, and other engineering software.
• Work alongside senior engineers and multidisciplinary teams to support project deliverables and solve engineering challenges.
• Participate in team meetings and gain exposure to client and project interactions.
• Assist with fieldwork and construction management activities, providing a firsthand look at projects throughout the full project lifecycle.
