Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an Environmental, Water Resources, or Civil Engineering Intern to join our team in Massachusetts and gain hands-on experience on real-world water and infrastructure projects. You’ll work with industry-leading engineers on municipal, federal, and industrial projects, supporting analyses and deliverables.

As an intern, you will develop engineering calculations, technical reports, and presentations while using ArcGIS, HEC-RAS, SWMM, CADD, and Excel.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s program in Environmental, Civil, Chemical Engineering or a related field.
• Able to commit to a structured internship with seasonal programs.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Research and evaluate engineering solutions to support project analyses, reporting, and design.
• Assist with the development of engineering calculations and technical reports.
• Gain hands-on experience using ArcGIS, HEC-RAS, SWMM, CADD, and Excel.
• Work with senior engineers and multidisciplinary teams to support deliverables.
• Participate in team meetings and client interactions; assist in fieldwork and construction activities.
• Build professional network and apply academic knowledge to real projects.
