Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an Environmental, Water Resources, or Civil Engineering Intern or Co-Op to join our team and gain hands-on experience on real-world water and infrastructure projects.

You will work with industry-leading engineers on a diverse portfolio, collaborating with interns and multidisciplinary project teams while gaining exposure to different areas of engineering and project delivery.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled and pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Civil, Chemical Engineering or a related field.
• Interest in water resources and civil infrastructure projects for real-world experience.
• Ability to work with multidisciplinary teams and present findings.

Responsibilities

• Research and evaluate engineering solutions to support project analyses, reporting, and design.
• Assist with the development of engineering calculations, technical reports, project documentation, and presentations.
• Gain hands-on experience using tools such as ArcGIS, HEC-RAS, SWMM, CADD, Excel, and other engineering software.
• Work alongside senior engineers and multidisciplinary teams to support project deliverables and solve engineering challenges.
• Participate in team meetings and gain exposure to client and project interactions.
• Assist with fieldwork and construction management activities, providing a firsthand look at projects throughout the full project lifecycle.
