Job summary

Sustainment & Restoration Services (SRS) invites an Environmental Engineering Intern to join the Ventura Office for a summer term. You will gain hands-on experience in environmental site assessment, investigation, and remediation activities under the guidance of experienced engineers and scientists on soil, groundwater, and surface water projects.

Collaborating with project teams, you’ll assist with fieldwork, data collection, and technical report preparation while learning regulatory

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering or Civil Engineering, or a related engineering field.
• Completed coursework in environmental engineering, soil mechanics, groundwater, or contaminant transport (preferred).
• Basic understanding of environmental remediation concepts and regulatory frameworks.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to perform fieldwork in varying weather and site conditions.

Responsibilities

• Assist with environmental remediation projects, including site investigations and corrective action activities.
• Support fieldwork such as soil sampling, groundwater monitoring, and remediation system monitoring.
• Collect, organize, and analyze environmental data.
• Assist in the preparation of technical reports, figures, and tables.
• Support compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations (e.g., CERCLA, RCRA, state cleanup programs).
• Participate in health and safety planning and adhere to site-specific safety protocols.
• Collaborate with project teams to support project planning, scheduling, and documentation.
