Job summary

International Paper in Prattville, Alabama, seeks an Environmental Engineer to lead environmental programs at the Prattville Mill. The role reports to the Environmental Manager and involves safety leadership, regulatory coordination, and waste management compliance.

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's in engineering or environmental sciences, 8–10 years in manufacturing (pulp and paper preferred), and experience with environmental regulations and Excel.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Environmental Sciences, or other related field.
No less than one (8-10) year of experience in a manufacturing environment (pulp and paper industry experience preferred).
Environmental area experience or knowledge is preferred.
Knowledge and experience with practical application of environmental regulations desired.
Must be experienced using a computer and skilled in word processing, spreadsheet programs (Microsoft Excel).
Plant Applications and PI ProcessBook experience is desired but not required.

Responsibilities

Provide visible and active leadership in delivering excellent safety results.
Report and communicate safety and performance measurements against objectives.
Complete safety audits to ensure compliance with safe work practices.
Coordinate and drive all waste management compliance activities.
Interface with federal, state regulatory agencies and community members to represent the mill.
