Job summary

Packaging Corporation of America (PCA) seeks an Environmental Engineer for full-time responsibilities at our U.S. mills. The role focuses on safe operation, regulatory compliance, and environmental program management across assigned areas.

The position requires a chemical/environmental/civil engineering background, up to 4 years of experience, and proficiency in CAD and Microsoft Office tools. This on-site role delivers competitive pay and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemical, environmental, civil engineering or related fields.
• 0–4 years of experience in process or environmental engineering.
• Authorized to work in the U.S.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word and Project.

Responsibilities

• Work safely and support mill safety, environmental, quality, and regulatory expectations across environmental programs.
• Maintain compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations, permits, and reporting.
• Manage environmental programs, procedures, records, audits, inspections, and agency reporting.
• Evaluate mill systems, capital projects, and new equipment installations for environmental compliance.
• Identify environmental issues, develop corrective actions, and coordinate with operations and regulators.
• Support environmental training, procedures, and continuous improvement across mill operations.
• Additional duties as assigned by management.
