Job summary

Granite Construction is seeking an Environmental Engineer Intern in Anchorage, AK. You will assist the Environmental Engineer in implementing the BSH&E plan, conduct site inspections, and help monitor waste handling and disposal practices.

The role includes collaboration with teams to ensure permit compliance and participate in audits and trainings. Ideal candidates are currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or graduate program, with strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or graduate program.
• Visible Emissions Certification is a plus.
• Willing to comply with Granite’s Code of Conduct and safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Assist Environmental Engineer with implementing the Business Safety Health Environmental and Quality plan.
• Conduct routine inspections and document site conditions; assist with monitoring activities.
• Monitor waste storage, labeling, disposal, and opportunities for recycling or reduction.
• Coordinate with teams to ensure permit conditions for water and air permits are met and maintain records.
