Job summary

Ahlstrom is seeking a motivated Environmental Engineer Intern to join our Wisconsin operations in Kaukauna for the summer of 2027. Responsibilities

• Assist with environmental compliance activities related to air, water, waste, and wastewater permits.
• Support data collection, analysis, and reporting for regulatory and internal environmental requirements.
• Assist with monitoring and tracking environmental performance metrics.
• Participate in sustainability and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support environmental audits and inspections.
• Assist with wastewater treatment system performance evaluations.
• Collect and analyze operational and environmental data to identify improvement opportunities.
• Develop reports, presentations, and recommendations for environmental projects.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, and EHS teams on environmental initiatives.
• Participate in safety and environmental training programs.

Our Environmental team plays a critical role in ensuring responsible operations while supporting innovative solutions that reduce environmental impact and improve performance.

We are seeking a motivated Environmental Engineer Intern to join our team during the summer of 2027. This position provides hands-on experience in environmental compliance, sustainability initiatives, wastewater treatment operations, air emissions management, and environmental performance improvement within a complex manufacturing environment.

Pay Rate

• $27.00 per hour
• Housing stipend available for qualified candidates relocating to the Kaukauna area for the duration of the internship or co-op assignment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with environmental compliance activities related to air, water, waste, and wastewater permits.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• Rising sophomore, junior, senior, or graduate student with plans to return to school following the internship.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
