Job summary

Par Pacific Holdings, Inc. is seeking an Environmental Engineer at our Kapolei, Hawaii refinery to ensure regulatory compliance and drive environmental performance.

You will balance independent project work with collaboration to support air compliance projects and manage programs such as CEMS and LDAR while liaising with federal and local agencies. The role reports to the Environmental Manager and includes guidance and training to refinery personnel to maintain a safe, compliant workplace as

Qualifications

• Minimum of four (4) years of environmental compliance experience, preferably in petroleum refining or industrial manufacturing.
• Air compliance experience for at least two years is required.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize deadlines and work under pressure.
• Collaborative mindset with ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.
• Valid U.S. Driver’s License with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit environmental compliance reports required by permits.
• Understand and maintain compliance plans and drive continuous improvement.
• Coordinate sampling and testing, review invoices, and assure recordkeeping.
• Minimize environmental risk and costs to the refinery.
• Be on-call to respond to unplanned events like startups, shutdowns, or malfunctions.
• Maintain relationships with federal, state and local agencies (e.g., USEPA and HDOH).
• Perform other duties and special assignments as needed.
• Participate in incident investigations and safety programs.
