Description
Environmental Engineer
Reports to: Global Environmental Manager
Responsibilities
- Assess, manage, and implement improvements to environmental regulatory, registration, and compliance programs across all Victaulic facilities.
- Conduct and support internal audits to evaluate compliance with local and state environmental permits and licensing requirements.
- Develop and execute corrective action plans based on audit findings, including creating procedures, work instructions, and conducting follow-up audits to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Create comprehensive training plans to maintain and enhance compliance activities.
- Lead periodic training sessions to ensure understanding and proper implementation of environmental practices.
- Coordinate with Engineering, Product Development, and Innovation teams to manage the New Chemical Evaluation process and provide environmental assessments.
- Support environmental aspects of new processes and chemicals from development through pilot and full-scale production.
- Manage and update the environmental task tracking system.
- Prepare regulatory reports such as Tier II, Form R, Air Emission Statements, and Discharge Monitoring Reports as required.
- Provide environmental support to all entities and senior management, including real estate environmental assessments, permit acquisition, emergency response planning, and compliance guidance.
- Assist the Global Environmental Manager with regulatory and remediation issues domestically and internationally.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Chemical, Civil Engineering or related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal environmental regulations and plans.
- 7-10 years of relevant experience in the environmental field, preferably in manufacturing.
- Willingness to work in various environments, including field, manufacturing, and office settings, with domestic and international travel as needed.
