Job summary

Autoliv United States is seeking an Environmental Engineer to lead and support environmental, health, and safety compliance initiatives across our manufacturing operations. You will work with plant leadership, operations, and facility teams to identify hazards, assess risks, and implement corrective actions for safety and environmental improvements.

The role requires 2+ years in EHS (3–5 preferred), strong regulatory knowledge, and excellent analytical and communication skills to drive

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in environmental engineering, Civil Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS); 3–5 years preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of environmental regulations, occupational health and safety standards, risk assessment methodologies, and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Experience conducting safety audits, incident investigations, hazard assessments, and corrective action implementation in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and drive continuous improvement in EHS performance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and maintain Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, corporate standards, and industry best practices.
  • Conduct risk assessments, workplace inspections, and incident investigations, developing corrective and preventive actions to minimize safety and environmental risks.
  • Partner with plant leadership, operations, and facility teams to identify hazards, implement safety improvements, and promote a strong culture of safety throughout the organization.
  • Manage environmental compliance activities, including regulatory reporting, recordkeeping, permits, audits, waste management, and sustainability initiatives.
  • Develop, deliver, and monitor EHS training programs, performance metrics, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance workplace safety, employee engagement, and environmental performance.

In this role you will be responsible for leading and supporting environmental, health, and safety compliance initiatives to ensure a safe, healthy, and environmentally responsible workplace. This role partners closely with plant leadership, operations, and facility teams to identify, assess, and mitigate workplace risks while ensuring compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.

If you have/are:
