Job summary

Choose901 is seeking a field-based Environmental Enforcement Officer in Memphis to conduct investigations into illegal waste dumping and littering under city ordinances. You will collect evidence, interview witnesses, and work under the supervision of a manager to ensure compliance.

Responsibilities include daily site inspections, drafting clear reports, issuing citations, and collaborating with other officers. Travel throughout the city is required, with some evenings and weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent and eight years’ experience in law enforcement or codes inspection.
• College degree or coursework credit strongly preferred.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Investigate illegal waste dumping and littering under City Ordinances.
• Draft reports clearly and technically, following guidelines.
• Issue littering citations when observed.
• Inspect storm water and sewage areas for compliance.
• Maintain daily records and prepare monthly/annual reports.
• Photograph sites for documentation and respond to inquiries.
