Job summary

BUNNELL LAMMONS ENGINEERING is seeking a Department Manager for Environmental Due Diligence and Compliance in Oak Ridge, TN. This senior role leads environmental services operations, manages staff, and ensures delivery of high-quality due diligence reports to clients across sectors.

The ideal candidate has extensive knowledge of federal/state regulations and hands-on ESA experience, with a track record in leadership, project management, and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related technical discipline required; Master’s degree preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in geotechnical and/or environmental consulting with leadership and project management focus.
• 3+ years of team leadership or management experience in a consulting or corporate environment.
• Professional registration (PE, PG, CHMM, or similar) strongly preferred.
• Advanced understanding of federal and state environmental regulations (CERCLA, RCRA, CWA, CAA, EPCRA).
• Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• Experience with large portfolio due diligence for real estate, investment, or corporate clients.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Environmental Services Department with a focus on due diligence and compliance service lines.
• Supervise, mentor, and support a team of environmental professionals across multiple project types and experience levels.
• Oversee workload allocation, training, performance reviews, and hiring.
• Promote technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous professional development.
• Oversee the execution and quality of Phase I ESAs, Phase II investigations, and transactional due diligence.
• Provide expert reviews and client-facing interpretations of findings, recommendations, and environmental risk.
