Job summary

Veolia North America, LLC is seeking a CDL driver to safely package and transport waste according to regulations across customer sites in the San Diego area. You will complete required paperwork, perform pre-trip inspections, and ensure DOT compliance while delivering excellent customer service.

Responsibilities include loading/unloading, planning routes from manifests, and coordinating with Managers to resolve issues.

Qualifications

• Must be 21+ and have a Valid Class B CDL with HazMat and Tanker endorsements.
• Able to lift up to 75 lbs repeatedly and stand/walk for extended periods.
• Proficient with basic Windows software and able to complete paperwork accurately.

Responsibilities

• Package and transport waste safely in accordance with federal, state, and local rules.
• Complete required paperwork and communicate issues to the Manager or Dispatcher.
• Load, secure, and unload materials at customer sites; perform pre-trip and post-trip checks.
• Plan routes based on daily manifests and follow routing schedules.
• Follow DOT guidelines and wear company-provided PPE as needed.

Job Details

• Package and transport waste safely according to all federal, state, and local rules and regulations.
• Complete required paperwork in accordance with appropriate regulations and customer policies, practices, and procedures.
• Load and secure materials and waste or unload truck at various customer sites or Clean Earth locations.
• Prepare and load truck with necessary supplies.
• Provide the highest level of customer service to assigned accounts daily while communicating any issues to the Manager or Dispatcher for resolution.
• Perform a documented pre-trip and post-trip check on assigned truck prior to leaving and closing each day.
• Plan schedule/route based on customer needs by reviewing daily paperwork (e.g.manifests, route sheets, etc.).
• Follow routing software route schedule.
• Follow all DOT guidelines while driving.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications

Basic Requirements

• At least 21 years of age
• High School diploma or GED
• Understand, read, and write English
• Able to repeatedly lift and carry up to 75 lbs.
• Able to stand, bend, and walk for extended periods of time
• Basic knowledge of Windows-based software (Word, Excel,etc)
• Willing and able to wear company-provided personal protective equipment such as eye protection, foot protection, Tyvek coveralls, and respirator (as needed)
• Valid ClassB Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
• Hazmat and Tanker endorsement
• Able to pass a DOT physical, drug test, and DEA background check

Preferred Requirements

• Valid TWIC Card
• At least 1 year of route driving experience
• Knowledge of hazardous materials and OSHA regulations

Pay

Pay starting at $29.00 - $30.00hourly
