The Environmental Data Manager will perform extract, transform, and load (ETL) operations on the data and manage it throughout its lifecycle—from event planning and field preparation to investigation data compilation, QA/QC, report preparation, and final data submissions. The role involves supporting project managers, analysts, chemists, and delivering data in various formats.

The Environmental Data Manager will establish electronic quality assurance project plans, coordinate field sample event planning using the EQuIS Sample Planning Module (SPM), configure data collection forms in EQuIS Collect, and assimilate field measurement data. Candidates will process laboratory data using the EQuIS Data Processor (EDP), coordinate data verification with the EQuIS Data Quality Module (DQM), and manage workflows with EQuIS Professional and EQuIS Enterprise. Collaboration with Data Managers, project chemists, GIS operators, and other offices is essential. Candidates should demonstrate excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities include:

  • Interface daily with quality control, laboratory, and field personnel.
  • Manage data status across sampling events.
  • Build sample, analysis, and analyte records in relational databases.
  • Generate sample labels and conduct routine data checks.
  • Ensure data completeness and compliance with project specifications.
  • Maintain regulatory screening criteria and load chain of custody data.
  • Perform data edits, develop T-SQL queries, and support report generation.
  • Design and manage EQuIS forms and reports.
  • Manage data formats, reference values, and legacy data migration.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field; Master’s degree and 2+ years of experience considered.
  • 4+ years managing environmental analytical chemistry data.
  • Experience with EQuIS EDP, EQuIS Professional, SPM, Collect, DQM, EnviroInsite, and T-SQL.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
