Job summary

ERM is seeking a motivated Consulting Associate, Engineer to join our New Orleans team, supporting site investigation, remediation, and hazardous waste projects across the Gulf Region. Early-career professionals will gain hands-on experience with data collection, analysis, and reporting while working with senior environmental experts.

Travel opportunities may arise across the United States and globally as projects evolve.

Qualifications

BS degree in geology, hydrogeology, environmental science or environmental engineering is required.
0–1 year of relevant field experience preferred.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong written and verbal communication and organization skills.
Willingness to travel up to 75% regionally with overnight stays.

Responsibilities

Conduct field work including soil, sediment, groundwater, and surface water sampling.
Coordinate drilling, surveying, and laboratory services.
Provide construction oversight on remediation projects.
Compile and evaluate soil, groundwater, air, and sediment data.
Assist in preparing regulatory reports and submittals.
Review groundwater chemistry data for regulatory exhibits.
Perform Phase I and II environmental site assessments.
Ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulations.
Communicate with subcontractors, regulators, and clients during field activities.
