Job summary

Environmental Resources Management (ERM) invites early-career environmental professionals to join our team in Ewing, New Jersey as a Consulting Associate/Environmental Engineer/Geologist/Scientist. The role emphasizes field and data collection across soil, groundwater, and water systems, supporting site investigations, remediation, and compliance.

Recent graduates through 1+ year of experience are considered; travel across the United States and potential global assignments are possible.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in geology, hydrogeology, engineering, environmental science, or related environmental discipline.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA or equivalent experience.
• Recent graduate to 1+ years of experience.
• Willingness and interest in field assignments; ability to perform field work.
• Strong safety commitment and following Health and Safety protocols.
• Effective written and verbal communication; strong organizational and analytical abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Detail-oriented with a solutions-focused approach and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to travel, lift up to 40 pounds, and operate a company vehicle as needed.
• Not eligible for immigration sponsorship.
• Preferred: Master’s degree in related environmental discipline.
• Experience recording and writing detailed technical data and reports.
• 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER, GIT or EIT certification.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field work including data collection across soil, groundwater, surface water, and air sampling.
• Assist groundwater and wastewater system performance monitoring.
• Perform Phase I and II environmental assessments for property transfers.
• Compile data and assist in report preparation.
• Prepare environmental compliance work plans, permits and reports.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Work within quality, budget, schedule, and scope expectations.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, regulators, tenants, and clients during field activities.
