Job summary

Murphy USA is seeking an Environmental Specialist to support liability management and risk reduction across current and divested store operations, with remediation oversight at terminal sites. You will collaborate with stores, regulators, and field management to resolve environmental exposure issues.

The role includes assisting with inquiries from state agencies, regulatory consultants, and internal teams, while ensuring proper documentation and compliance across multiple systems.

Qualifications

• Four year college degree preferred with knowledge of business management, accounting processes, and computer proficiency.
• Two or more years of related industry experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with liability management, oversight of remediation, and coordination with stakeholders.
• Respond to state agency inquiries and inspections, and support internal departments.
• Oversee wetland and stormwater management and permitting with consultants; manage hazardous waste and Sara Title III filings.
• Evaluate waste generation for stores and determine need for EPA waste generator IDs.
• Support environmental emergency response for fuel spills and hurricane events.
