Job summary

The National Park Service in Alaska is seeking an Environmental Protection Specialist to support and administer environmental compliance for park operations, planning, and development projects in Kotzebue or Nome.

You will assist with preparing and reviewing environmental compliance documents, collect and analyze data for NEPA studies, conduct site visits, review projects for impacts, and coordinate with park staff, partner agencies, and the public to ensure proper environmental safeguards.

Qualifications

• Experience with environmental compliance in federal land management is preferred.
• Familiarity with NEPA processes and environmental documents is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparing and reviewing environmental compliance documents and analyses.
• Collect, analyze, and organize environmental data for compliance studies.
• Conduct site visits and inspections to gather information and assess environmental conditions.
• Review projects for potential environmental impacts and compliance requirements.
