Job summary

Fairweather, a Doyon company in Alaska, seeks an Environmental Specialist IV to support exploration teams by guiding environmental compliance, waste, wildlife, water quality, and spill prevention efforts across remote field operations on Alaska’s North Slope.

The role requires reviewing field activities, performing onsite audits, coordinating with agencies, and communicating risks to Health, Safety & Environmental teams.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in Alaska environmental compliance (spills, waste, water use, drinking water, land issues, permitting, field monitoring/study design, wildlife, remediation)

Responsibilities

• Serving as a technical resource to the Exploration team by providing guidance and assistance to the field and coordinating programs to validate compliance with environmental regulations related to: waste disposal and material reuse, waste minimization, wildlife, land, water quality, water use, spill reporting and prevention, and other related field environmental issues as required.
• Identifying environmental risks, issues, and mitigation strategies, and communicating with Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE)
• Assessing field activities by conducting onsite audits and site visits to validate environmental compliance.
• Representing ConocoPhillips during agency inspections; and maintaining contacts and working relationships with local, state, and federal agency personnel.
