Job summary

Republic Services in Vernon, CA is seeking a Regulatory Environmental Compliance Specialist to manage environmental permits, programs and policies, ensuring compliance with local, state and federal regulations. You will advise internal customers and help drive corrective actions and training where needed.

This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders. Proficiency in MS Office is expected.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of environmental regulations including hazardous waste, solid waste, water and air.
• Analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Attention to detail and technical aptitude.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams and PowerPoint applications.

Responsibilities

• Participates with management personnel in establishing procedures for administering regulatory compliance programs.
• Reviews analytical data and environmental performance metrics and summarizes and interprets results.
• Prepares permit applications and modifications.
• Conducts regular environmental inspections and supports and tracks corrective actions, if necessary.
• Prepares regulatory and permit required reporting.
• Conducts environmental compliance training.
• Performs other, related duties as assigned.
