Job summary

Greenheck Group is seeking an Environmental Compliance Specialist to ensure regulatory adherence across manufacturing sites. The role involves interpreting environmental requirements, preparing reports, and coordinating with internal teams and external partners.

The position focuses on maintaining compliance while supporting sustainability initiatives and continuous improvement within a full-time onsite setting in Tulsa, OK or Shelby, NC.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Chemistry, Biology or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 2-4 years in environmental compliance or EHS roles.
• Experience managing environmental programs, regulatory reporting, inspections, or permitting.
• Proficiency in MS Office and cloud-based tools.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

• Apply working knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental requirements and major programs including CAA, CWA, RCRA, EPCRA, SPCC, SWPPP/NPDES, air permitting, wastewater, hazardous waste, Tier II, and TRI.
• Independently determine applicable requirements and permit conditions and translate compliance obligations into practical expectations for facility personnel and operations.
• Interpret SDSs, technical data, laboratory results, production information, and equipment specifications for environmental compliance evaluations.
• Perform and document environmental calculations, including air emissions, regulatory thresholds, waste generation status, wastewater loading, stormwater/spill prevention, chemical inventories, and TRI reporting calculations.
• Manage assigned environmental programs, permits, plans, procedures, inspections, monitoring, reporting, recordkeeping, and regulatory deadlines.
• Prepare regulatory reports and submissions and coordinate permitting for new or modified equipment, processes, and facilities.
• Conduct audits, inspections, and assessments; investigate incidents or compliance concerns; develop corrective and preventive actions and track them through completion.
• Evaluate regulatory and operational changes for environmental impact and advise on compliance strategies.
• Serve as an environmental compliance resource and point of contact for assigned facilities or programs, including routine agency interactions and inspections.
• Partner with internal teams and coordinate consultants, laboratories, waste vendors, and other external service providers.
• Develop and deliver environmental training, analyze trends, improve compliance processes, and provide technical guidance to team members as needed.
• Support sustainability, waste reduction, pollution prevention, resource conservation, and environmental projects.

WHAT YOU SHOULD HAVE

• 2-4 years of progressively responsible work experience in environmental compliance, EHS, or a related field.
• Experience independently managing environmental programs, regulatory reporting, inspections, or permitting activities.
• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, Natural Resources, Occupational Safety, or related field, or equivalent years of job experience.
• Advanced computer skills in Outlook, SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and cloud-based applications.
• Valid driver's license and safe driving record.
• Working knowledge of environmental permitting, reporting, inspection, and recordkeeping requirements.
• Environmental compliance experience in manufacturing and an environmental/EHS-related certification are preferred.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

The starting base pay range for this position is $85,731 - $105,903 and may vary based on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and performance.
