EDGE is seeking an Environmental Specialist to assist our Compliance and Liability Management group with providing multi-media compliance support to our clients in the Oil and Gas, Chemical, and Manufacturing industries. The successful candidate will work with multidisciplinary project teams conducting environmental inspections, assessments, sampling, permitting, and other compliance activities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Conduct field work including soil, groundwater, surface water, and dust sampling
• Collect, organize, and manage large volumes of client data and documentation
• Assist in conducting operational site audits
• Track progress and completion of audits and follow up corrective actions
• Support the preparation and submission of compliance reports (e.g., Annual Waste Summaries, Tier II Reports, TRI Reports, Discharge Monitoring Reports) for numerous clients simultaneously
• Assist with the development of SPCC, SWP3, waste management plans, contingency plans, and other environmental plans
• Provide technical support on a variety of projects, including assisting with regulatory research, data collection and analysis, and the preparation of various technical documents
• Work within quality/budget/schedule expectations and scope-specific assignments
• Aid in the modification and renewal of environmental permits, licenses, and plans
• Evaluate compliance programs for efficiency and improvements
• Communicate with agency representatives on behalf of clients and projects

REQUIREMENTS

• S. degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related discipline (M.S. preferred)
• 2+ years of relevant work experience
• Experience collecting, handling, and documenting environmental samples
• Working knowledge of federal environmental and safety regulations including RCRA, CERCLA, EPCRA, TSCA, OSHA and various accompanying state-specific regulations
• Comprehensive knowledge and familiarity with the use of MS Office Suite software programs is necessary
• Self-motivated, quick learning, flexible individuals who have a common-sense approach to conducting business and workload management will be most successful
