This role works with design and construction teams and external consultants; it requires strong regulatory knowledge, project management, and the ability to respond to emergencies after hours with a valid driver’s license.
The Department of Environment, Health & Safety is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Environmental Health & Safety Specialist Senior to join its Environmental Protection & Permitting group. This position will support environmental compliance, due diligence, site assessment, investigations, remediation, and permitting activities across University properties and projects.
The successful candidate will manage and support environmental projects involving contaminated media, regulatory compliance, consultant coordination, field sampling, reporting, and collaboration with design and construction teams. This role requires strong technical knowledge of environmental regulations, project management experience, and the ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

This position follows a Monday-Friday schedule during daytime hours. Additional work hours may occasionally be required to respond to emergencies or other time-sensitive and critical events.
