Job summary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or a related field is required.
  • At least two (2) years of experience in environmental science, environmental health, or a related field.
  • Any combination of education, training, experience, and/or certification/licenses that provides the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities may be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the city's compliance with the Texas Pollution Discharge Elimination System (TPDES) permit.
  • Execute the mosquito surveillance and abatement program.
  • Support water conservation activities and enforcement; ensure compliance with state and local environmental codes.
  • Provide technical assistance and information to the public; supervise staff, contractors, and vendors; duties may require hours outside normal work times.

Environmental science knowledge

Education

Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or related field
Two or more years of experience in environmental science or related field
Class C driver license
Texas Department of Agriculture Pesticide Applicators License
40 HR HAZWOPER OSHA certification
