Job summary

City of Burleson Environmental and Regulatory Coordinator oversees alignment with the Texas Pollution Discharge Elimination System permit, mosquito surveillance and abatement, water conservation, and enforcement of environmental codes. The role also leads and assesses work across staff, contractors, and vendors, and may require after-hours duties.

The position emphasizes technical guidance for the public, collaboration with state and local agencies, and supporting ongoing compliance programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or a related field is required.
• At least two years of experience in environmental science, environmental health, or a related field.
• Any combination of education, training, experience, and/or certification/licenses may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate compliance with the TP DES permit and related environmental codes.
• Oversee mosquito surveillance and abatement activities.
• Support water conservation initiatives and enforcement.
• Provide technical assistance and information to the public.
• Prioritize, assign, and evaluate work of staff, contractors, and vendors.
