Job summary

Axiom Consultants, Inc. seeks an experienced Environmental Compliance Specialist to support NOAA OER.

The role focuses on ensuring expeditions and projects stay compliant with federal environmental laws, integrating regulatory requirements into planning to prevent delays and ensure legal conformity. Responsibilities include coordinating permits and documentation (MMPA, NEPA, ESA, MSA), reviewing CE and other documents, editing for clarity, and providing technical services to OER and OAR to

Qualifications

• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to solve problems and work in a team.
• Knowledge of environmental laws, regulations and policies.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate environmental compliance, permitting and documentation for expeditions and projects (MMPA, NEPA, ESA, MSA).
• Provide detailed technical reviews of compliance documents and CEs.
• Coordinate with COR/TPOC to resolve internal comments on draft documents.
• Edit and synthesize Environmental Compliance / EIS materials; present findings clearly.
• Revise NEPA and related policies and procedures; ensure compliance with federal procedures.
• Draft determinations regarding adequacy of analyses in project files; provide technical comments.
