Job summary

AES Indiana is seeking a Senior Specialist, Environmental to strengthen our environmental compliance across transmission and distribution operations. You will partner with regulatory agencies and internal teams to ensure adherence to permits, reporting, and continuous improvement programs.

In this role, you will lead inspections, coordinate SPCC and EMS activities, and drive environmental performance. A strong foundation in environmental science and experience in industrial settings are required

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field required.
• Experience in environmental programs within industrial/utilities settings.
• Knowledge of environmental compliance, reporting, permitting, and regulatory requirements.
• Experience with environmental data, inspections, audits, or compliance programs.
• Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with diverse teams.

Responsibilities

• Manage EHS compliance activities for AES Indiana's transmission and distribution operations.
• Monitor regulatory developments and implement changes to maintain compliance.
• Prepare and submit environmental reports and documentation (Hazardous Waste, Tier II, PCB, OSHA).
• Conduct facility inspections and SPCC/waste management assessments.
• Support EMS, Spill Prevention and Waste Management programs and audits.
• Coordinate with regulatory agencies and internal stakeholders on incidents and corrective actions.
• Deliver training on environmental compliance and best practices.
