Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Environmental Management, or a closely related technical or science-based field.
• Two to four years of professional environmental compliance experience in relevant settings.
• Strong knowledge of Indiana environmental regulations and federal/state/local requirements.
• Experience with air, water, waste, and multi-media compliance.
• Ability to collect, review, and report environmental data accurately and on time.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, with ability to explain requirements to varied audiences.
• Strong organization, deadline discipline, and multi-tasking ability.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Willingness to travel occasionally and possess a valid Indiana driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and permit conditions at AES Eagle Valley sites.
• Collect, verify, manage, and analyze environmental data for regulatory reports and permits.
• Ensure inspections, tests, records, and reporting deliverables are completed on time.
• Maintain the AES Environmental Management System and site-specific objectives.
• Provide guidance, training, and coaching on environmental compliance to operations and leadership.
• Identify trends and potential permit deviations; communicate issues to stakeholders.
• Support permitting efforts and coordinate with Environmental Affairs experts on regulations and permits.
• Support change management for new or changing environmental priorities and policies.
• Lead or assist with internal environmental audits and corrective actions.
• Develop and manage site environmental budgets and integrate requirements into planning.
