Job summary

Atlas is seeking an Environmental Compliance Manager (Project Manager) to lead compliance programs for industrial and commercial clients in the Ohio Valley. You will oversee air, water and waste regulations, manage permits and reporting, and work with clients, regulators and teams to ensure safe, compliant operations that support community redevelopment.

The role requires 5–10+ years of hands-on experience, deep regulatory knowledge, and strong project management skills.

Qualifications

• 5–10+ years of environmental compliance experience with permits, reporting and audits.
• Strong knowledge of EPA/state regulations (CAA, CWA/NPDES, RCRA, EPCRA, TSCA).
• Experience managing compliance programs and closing audit findings.
• Hands-on permitting and reporting (air Title V, SWPPP, SPCC, NPDES, hazardous waste, Tier II/TRI).
• Experience with Phase I/II Environmental Site Assessments and site history research.
• Excellent project management, deadlines, and budgeting skills.
• Clear communication; detail-oriented; professional certifications a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead environmental compliance programs across air, water, waste, and chemicals.
• Manage permits, reporting, and compliance documentation with deadlines.
• Serve as primary client/regulator contact, guiding compliance strategy.
• Conduct audits, identify gaps, and implement corrective actions.
• Lead SPCC and SWPPP program implementation and inspections.
• Support project delivery: scope, schedule, budget, team coordination.
• Contribute to business growth through client relationships and proposals.
• Support environmental site assessments and brownfield projects; track regulatory changes.
