Job Description

Atlas is seeking an Environmental Project Manager to join our team in Ohio. In this role, you will lead environmental investigation, remediation, corrective action, permitting, and construction-support projects for a major petroleum portfolio. You will serve as a trusted technical resource while helping clients meet regulatory requirements and move complex sites toward closure.

This is an opportunity to combine technical expertise with project leadership, client partnership, and team development. Your work will help protect people and the environment while supporting safe, responsible outcomes in the communities where we live and work.

Core Responsibilities
  • Lead BUSTR environmental site investigation, remediation, corrective action, permitting, and construction-support projects.
  • Prepare and review advanced BUSTR deliverables, including Tier 2 Calibrations, Tier 3 Evaluations, MCAs, fate-and-transport models, and site-specific target levels.
  • Guide clients through applicable local, regional, state, and federal environmental requirements.
  • Manage project scope, internal milestones, regulatory deadlines, documentation, and progress toward site closure.
  • Review reports for technical accuracy, quality, and clear communication before submission.
  • Build productive relationships with clients, regulators, subcontractors, and project teams while mentoring developing professionals.
You’ll thrive here if you have
  • A bachelor’s degree in science, engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 12 years of relevant environmental experience, including BUSTR site investigation and remediation work.
  • Strong knowledge of BUSTR rules, reporting requirements, and regulatory coordination.
  • Experience leading projects and mentoring or supervising staff.
  • Demonstrated commitment to health and safety requirements, quality documentation, and responsible field execution.
  • Strong problem-solving, report‑writing, editing, organization, and client‑communication skills.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently while keeping others informed.
  • Experience with fate‑and‑transport modeling; 40‑hour HAZWOPER training is preferred.
  • Proficiency with common business and reporting tools, including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and PDF applications.
